THE BASIC STEPS FOR BECOMING A CERTIFIED INSTRUCTOR ARE

1. Become a certified Instructor and maintain your certification throughout your instructor
candidacy
2. Have a experience in the nightclub/bar security field or in the following Law
Enforcement/Security
3. Gather the required information for the Application for Instructor Candidacy
4. Participate in a Basic or Advance Certification Course as a course assistant
5. Once you are approved as an instructor candidate, work with your mentor and lead
instructor to prepare to teach.
6. Teach a Certification Course within one year of being approved as an instructor candidate.
7. Lecture your first course, with a staff instructor form NNSC
8. Set up at least one hands-on exercise
9. Lead at least one hands-on exercise
10. Participate fully in the course
11. The lead instructor and your mentor will determine if you have passed or failed
instructor candidacy and will send your NNSC evaluation score along with the Instructor
Certification and ID number.
12. Upon successful completion of instructor candidacy, your status will change to Certified
Instructor.
13. Continue working to improve your technical and teaching skills, fulfill your obligations as
an instructor, and eventually, consider becoming a lead instructor or a mentor.
14. There is no limit to the number of times you can teach a Certification Course as an
instructor candidate during your one year candidacy period. All instructors must sign an
agreement and NNSC contract.​

19. Respectful, supportive, and fair approach to teaching.
20. Good events planning skills.
21. Good computer/phone skills and capacity to learn the software used to
run the classes.
